I seem to have developed a hate-hate relationship with wordpress. I hate wordpress and wordpress seems to hate me. Finding out how you’re meant to do something with wordpress, and which of the several different menus the function you’re looking for is hidden in, feels a bit like my neighbor is Sisyphus, my boss is Hades, and someone invented computers and the internet in ancient Greece. The reality is a lot more dystopian though, and I’ve enlisted the help of our digital horsemen of the apocalypse for help. AI chatbots!
To be fair, they do a great job of traversing the labyrinth of wordpress, so I don’t have to. When the labyrinth turns out to be empty, the horsemen have no issues with providing some handy custom CSS code to fix the issue directly. Brilliant!
Pictures
There are now pictures on the “Pictures” page. Pictures denotes the gallery. Why I didn’t just call it the gallery is beyond me, I guess I thought it was funny. But it does get the point across. Go to Pictures, to look at the pictures please. Despite the simplicity I did take a fair amount of time to get it looking just the right amount of simple.
Right now, all my previous projects, starting from about when I started treating the hobby somewhat seriously, are posted in there. I have one more finished project that’s yet to be photographed, but that’s waiting for a very fancy lens for my new fairly fancy camera to arrive. Brilliant!
What’s next?
Expect a gallery update when aforementioned fancy lens arrives and I learn how to use the fairly fancy camera. In the meantime I’m taking time to document and photograph my next model building project. If I get motivated enough to write about what I’m doing, I can move on with planning out and organising the “Words” section of the website. In the short term though, I think I’ll probably just post some just like this! No real tags or sections or anything like that. If I’ve learned one thing is, it’s easier to plan out the website once you actually have something to work with. For example, I assumed I’d need to make some sort of filtering system for the gallery. To separate the figures from the models, or maybe even so you can pick certain themes or scales. But now that I’ve posted everything, the reality is I don’t have that many projects to begin with, and scrolling through everything isn’t too bad. I’ll keep it the way it is for now.
